Choose one of the following zentian heritages at 1st level.
Adhesive Zentian
Your outer membrane can excrete a powerful, controlled adhesive, a trait evolved to navigate the coastal cliffs or giant, slick flora of your homeworld. You gain a climb Speed of 10 feet. Additionally, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your Fortitude and Reflex DCs against attempts to Disarm, Shove, Reposition, or Trip you.
Aquatic Zentian
Your lineage never strayed far from the vast oceans and sprawling archipelagos of your homeworld. You are perfectly adapted to life both on the coastlines and beneath the waves. You gain the amphibious trait, allowing you to breathe in both water and air, and you gain a swim Speed of 10 feet.
Osteon Zentian
Your protoplasm contains numerous free-floating, hardened organic nodules, remnants of a proto-skeletal system. You have learned to consciously manipulate these “osteons” with incredible speed, arranging them just beneath your membrane to form a variety of useful structures. This makes you a natural artisan, builder, and defender within your community. You can use an Interact action to extend one or more osteons into a pseudopod to use as a simple tool such as a shovel or hammer. You also gain the Protoplasmic Shield action.
Protoplasmic Shield [one-action]
You arrange your internal nodules into a defensive posture, gaining a +1 circumstance bonus to your AC until the start of your next turn. Protoplasmic Shield has a hardness of 5 and zero hit points, and is immediately broken if its hardness is overcome. A broken protoplasmic shield regrows over the course of one hour.
Ocular Node Zentian
A specialized, mobile sensory organ floats freely within your gelatinous mass. By constantly shifting its position for optimal angles and depth perception, you maintain an unparalleled visual awareness of your surroundings. You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to all visual Perception checks.
Toxic Zentian
Your outer membrane weeps a thin, glistening film of potent biochemical toxins, a clear warning to any creature that might try to touch you. You gain the Noxious Retaliation reaction.
Noxious Retaliation [reaction] Frequency once per hour; Trigger A creature touches you, such as by Grappling you, successfully hitting you with an unarmed attack, or using a touch-range spell against you; Effect You exude a deadly toxin. The triggering creature takes 1d4 poison damage (basic Fortitude save using your class DC or spell DC, whichever is higher). At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the damage increases by 1d4.
